SDGP #67 — Multisig Signer Replacement: PumpkingWok → qqqqqd

Summary

This proposal seeks community approval to replace PumpkingWok (0xAa80eB390303B33c89cfF979279E36663843D632) with qqqqqd (0x4ef871a50cd5554a79bf5dcd5061d84c5013fb3b) as a signer of the various Stake DAO Safe contracts (governance owner and treasury contracts).

Regulatory & Legal Notice:
This proposal is submitted for governance purposes only and does not constitute an offer, solicitation, or provision of regulated financial services.

The Stake DAO protocol operates through non-custodial smart contracts. Multisig signers act as independent transaction co-signers within predefined technical permissions and do not exercise discretionary asset management or custody on behalf of users.

Nothing herein shall be construed as investment advice, fiduciary activity, or custodial responsibility. Participation in governance is voluntary and subject to applicable laws and individual responsibility.

Background

Following SDGP #34 — Multisig signers election (April 2024), the community elected and approved the current set of multisig signers pursuant to SDGP #33 and the Multisig Signers Community Guidelines.

Multisig signers operate as independent participants responsible for reviewing and co-signing transactions executed via Stake DAO’s Safe contracts, within the constraints of the protocol architecture.

The role is operational in nature and requires ongoing availability, diligence, and adherence to security, verification, and transparency standards defined in the guidelines.

The composition of the multisig signer set remains subject to ongoing governance. The community retains the authority to update, replace, or rotate signers as necessary to ensure operational continuity, security, and efficiency.

The original election established an initial signer set and does not confer a fixed-term mandate or irrevocable appointment.

Rationale

To maintain operational efficiency, transaction responsiveness and signer reliability, this proposal introduces a replacement based on availability, responsiveness, and demonstrated ability to comply with the Multisig Signers Community Guidelines.

The replacement is not performance-related but reflects operational capacity requirements necessary for the continued functioning of DAO-controlled contracts.

Proposal

  • Remove: PumpkingWok — 0xAa80eB390303B33c89cfF979279E36663843D632

  • Add: qqqqqd — 0x4ef871a50cd5554a79bf5dcd5061d84c5013fb3b

The proposed signer explicitly agrees to adhere to the Multisig Signers Community Guidelines, as adopted in SDGP #33 and applied in SDGP #34, including but not limited to obligations relating to transaction verification, security practices, responsiveness, and transparency.

Such commitment is a condition for inclusion in the multisig signer set and remains subject to ongoing governance oversight.

The proposed signer has been privately identified to a trusted party for accountability purposes, without public disclosure. This does not create any formal relationship, control, or oversight authority. Participation remains voluntary and uncompensated.

Safeguards

Independence & Conflict of Interest
The proposed signer has confirmed the absence of conflicts of interest that would impair objective transaction verification.

Security Commitment
The proposed signer commits to maintaining industry-standard key management practices, including (where applicable) hardware wallet usage and secure operational procedures.

No Authority Expansion
This change does not modify the underlying multisig threshold, permissions, or contract logic. It solely replaces one signer address with another.

No Compensation / Agency Relationship
Signers act independently and are not employees, agents, or representatives of the Stake DAO Association or any affiliated entity.

Risks

  • Multisig signer replacement may temporarily impact transaction coordination.

  • Signer performance depends on individual availability and operational security.

  • Smart contract and governance risks remain unchanged.

Voting

  • For: Replace PumpkingWok with qqqqqd.

  • Against: Keep the current signer set unchanged.

  • Abstain

Execution

If approved, the execution will consist solely of updating the signer set on the relevant Safe contracts by removing the outgoing address and adding the new address, in accordance with existing multisig thresholds.

Execution will be performed by current signers following standard verification procedures and will not involve custody or transfer of user funds beyond standard contract permissions.

The Stake DAO Association may facilitate coordination but does not control or execute transactions.

Remove 0xAa80eB390303B33c89cfF979279E36663843D632 and add 0x4ef871a50cd5554a79bf5dcd5061d84c5013fb3b to the multisig.
