Summary :
This proposal aims to exempt the creation of coming Liquid Lockers from the voting process.
Context:
Liquid Lockers are now one of the most important products of Stake DAO, launched a few months ago now((cf: Introducing Liquid Lockers & veSDT | by Stake DAO | Medium) , they contribute to the deployment and evolution of the veTOKENS model project based, through the DeFi.
There are currently 5 Liquid Lockers integrated on Stake DAO:
- CRV Liquid Locker (from Curve), -
- ANGLE Liquid Locker (from Angle),
- FXS Liquid Locker (from Frax),
- BAL Liquid Locker (from Balancer)
- APW Liquid Lockers, (from Apwine)
And many other Liquid Lockers are coming.
Rational :
The Liquid Lockers are intended to be a real crossroads where many projects of the DeFi ecosystem meet, and Stake DAO aims to be the reference in terms, meta-governance, liquidity and yield.
The creation of a project’s liquid locker is relatively fast and the Stake DAO team may have to deliver more and more of them in the future due to the growing demand from other projects.
However, the current framework requires a proposal for each liquid locker integration, and as a result, the voting process for the integration of a new liquid locker can slow down the dynamic of creation and delivery of this product.
Furthermore, since it does not impact veSDT holders in any way, exempt the in coming Liquid Lockers from the voting process will not impact the interests of the stakeholders but simply encourages the progress and development of this product.
That being said, the voting process will be still required regarding gauges votes for SDT incentives.
